Sales Pitch:

     With a scale length starting at 34 inches on the G string and ending at 35.5" on the B, the string tension has a significantly improved feel over a standard single length bass, especially when down-tuning. The perpendicular fret being the 7th feels surprisingly at-home to players unfamiliar with multi-scale instruments. The triple cutaway design allows a third playing position when sitting, or the perfect "foot-on-the-monitor shredding" for ultimate photogenic opportunities.

Woods:

     The birdseye maple and walnut sandwich give a thumpy open tone that resonates thru the body of the player. Although walnut is a slightly heavier body wood, the slim ergonomic design doesn't feel heavy whatsoever and rather provides an incredible balance when sitting or standing.

Pickups - From Dimarzio:

     The hum-cancelling Ultra Jazz™ takes a traditional Fender® Jazz Bass® sound and really opens it up. Lows are deeper, highs are more percussive, and the mid-range is round but not muddy. Harmonic overtones jump off the strings. It’s also quick; with instant response to either fingers or pick-style playing. There’s only one word for this combination of qualities: “musical”.

     The appearance of the Ultra Jazz™ is traditional, but the wide dynamic range and frequency response of the hybrid magnetic structure allows both vintage and modern sounds. As with the Model J™, hum canceling is achieved with each coil sensing a pair of strings, rather than a stacked design; even with a relatively high DC resistance figure, the Ultra Jazz™ has very strong, percussive highs and clean lows.

Preamp/EQ - From Darkglass:

     Darkglass Tone Capsule bass preamp system. Instead of a typical bass/mid/treble EQ configuration, the Tone Capsule system offers bass/mid/high-mid tone shaping, each with a +/-12dB range. The bass control is centered at 70Hz for low-end power, while the mid control centers at 500Hz for midrange growl and punch. The high-mid control is centered at 2.8kHz, allowing you to enhance presence and articulation without adding noise or unwanted highs.
